The Good and Bad Sides to Natural and Unnatural Things

Anytime people say something is unnatural, it is assumed to be bad.  When something is natural, people associate it with good things.  I do not agree.  There is a good and bad to everything, including things occurring in nature and things that are man-made.

To clarify my point, here are examples of each.

Bad Natural Things:

Tornados
Ebola
Burrs
Lice
Violent/Criminal tendencies
Poison Ivy
Depression
Exploding appendices
Evolution-induced back pain
Multiple Sclerosis
Cyanide from apple seeds
Black widow spiders
Scorpions
Diarrhea
Hurricanes
Tsunamis
Overpopulation
Rabies
The Flu
Gnats
Gravity – when falling badly
Insomnia
Fleas
Plagues
Lion attacks
Menstrual cramps
Aging
Heartache
Heart attacks
Bad memories
Dinner plate-sized tarantulas in Australia
Panic attacks
Cat’s hairballs
Owl pellets
Death
Nightmares
Tapeworms
Traveler’s diarrhea
Rattle snakes
Tongue-swallowing gene
Cat allergies
Chocolate allergies
Heat waves
Stupidity
Ingrown toenails
Getting struck by lightning

Good Unnatural Things:

Clothes
Toothpaste
Koosh balls
Movies
Bras
Buildings
Your home
Tennis rackets
Red wine
Condoms
Internet
Computers
Alarm systems
DNA fingerprinting
The Giza Pyramids
Tetris
Cartoons
Charts
Lab created diamonds
Trampolines
Dog chew toys
Swimming pools
Filtered water
Silly string
Vitamin tablets
Jump ropes
Rhinestones
Telephones
Tacos
Books
Dishwashers
Air conditioning
Heaters
Electricity
Monuments
Airplanes
Binoculars
Shoes
Baseballs
Harps
Lasik surgery
Holidays
School
Penicillin
Eiffel Tower
M&Ms

The list could go on.  Add to either list if you wish.  I know some of the examples may have either made you laugh or sounded absurd, but my point is that not everything natural is good, and not everything unnatural is bad.

A Poem about Feeling vs Realizing

I wrote this short poem awhile back, which I care to share with you.

1-21-18

Sometimes I feel stupid because I don't know everything.
Sometimes I feel poor because I don't have everything.
Sometimes I feel defeated because I don't win at everything.

Though,

I feel smart when I realize how much I know.
I feel rich when I realize how much I have.
I feel successful when I realize how much good I have done in this world.

Benefits of Solitude

During this pandemic, here are some points to remember while you are staying at home.
Solitude is a special type of freedom.

Benefits of Solitude:
1. You can do anything without people staring or making comments.
2. You can read a book in silence.
3. You can watch a movie without hearing unsolicited opinions.
4. You can use your phone without interruption or being called a phone zombie, and you’re not in anyone’s way.
5. You can surf the internet without anyone wondering what you’re looking at.
6. You can work on a novel without being approached or harassed.
7. You can paint or do any art project without interruption or asked what you’re doing.
8. You can shoot a video without someone video-bombing it.
9. You can wear any outfit; no explanation necessary.
10. You can meditate.
11. You can master a musical instrument.
12. No one is blocking your path or hemming you in.
13. No one’s plans can get in the way of your creative plans, because those people aren’t there.
14. You can practice any religion.
15. You can watch Carebears, without someone duffbag questioning your maturity.
16. You can listen to unpopular music and not deal with people whining about it whilst ignoring real world problems.
17. You can get up to use the bathroom without someone switching the TV channel.
18. You can daydream without someone waving their hand in front of your face.
19. You can write poetry or anything without someone looking over your shoulder.
20. There’s no self-welcoming idiot approaching you with, “You look lonely,” and “No one wants to be alone! Let me make you feel welcomed.”

Trump’s Pandemic Paradelle

In a previous post, I said I would write another paradelle regarding Trump’s statements in this pandemic.  I hope you all enjoy.  If you would like to write your own paradelle, see the format in my previous post.

Trump’s Pandemic Paradelle

We have it totally under control.
We have it totally under control.
Now the democrats are politicizing, and this is their new hoax.
Now the democrats are politicizing, and this is their new hoax.
We have the hoax of politicizing under control.
We are totally under.

It’s one person coming in from China.
It’s one person coming in from China.
When you have fifteen people, and within a couple of days, it’s going to be down to close to zero.
When you have fifteen people, and within a couple of days, it’s going to be down to close to zero.
Close to zero from China, coming person to person.
Within fifteen days, and you have to be down.

One day, it’s like a miracle, it will disappear.
One day, it’s like a miracle, it will disappear.
No, I don’t take responsibility at all.
No, I don’t take responsibility at all.
It’s no miracle.  Responsibility will disappear.
No, I don’t take one day at all.  I take all.

We have fifteen people within days, and zero is a hoax.
In China now it’s under control.
We have no control, and no responsibility at all.
A miracle is their new hoax.
Responsibility is close to zero.
A couple of days will disappear, and people are going to disappear.

*     *     *

When I mixed the lines to say, “We have no control, and no responsibility at all,” I am referring to the inconsiderate people in my country who cough in people’s faces.  Because of them, we have no control over the spiking of cases.
