The Good and Bad Sides to Natural and Unnatural Things

Anytime people say something is unnatural, it is assumed to be bad.  When something is natural, people associate it with good things.  I do not agree.  There is a good and bad to everything, including things occurring in nature and things that are man-made.

To clarify my point, here are examples of each.

Bad Natural Things:

Tornados
Ebola
Burrs
Lice
Violent/Criminal tendencies
Poison Ivy
Depression
Exploding appendices
Evolution-induced back pain
Multiple Sclerosis
Cyanide from apple seeds
Black widow spiders
Scorpions
Diarrhea
Hurricanes
Tsunamis
Overpopulation
Rabies
The Flu
Gnats
Gravity – when falling badly
Insomnia
Fleas
Plagues
Lion attacks
Menstrual cramps
Aging
Heartache
Heart attacks
Bad memories
Dinner plate-sized tarantulas in Australia
Panic attacks
Cat’s hairballs
Owl pellets
Death
Nightmares
Tapeworms
Traveler’s diarrhea
Rattle snakes
Tongue-swallowing gene
Cat allergies
Chocolate allergies
Heat waves
Stupidity
Ingrown toenails
Getting struck by lightning

Good Unnatural Things:

Clothes
Toothpaste
Koosh balls
Movies
Bras
Buildings
Your home
Tennis rackets
Red wine
Condoms
Internet
Computers
Alarm systems
DNA fingerprinting
The Giza Pyramids
Tetris
Cartoons
Charts
Lab created diamonds
Trampolines
Dog chew toys
Swimming pools
Filtered water
Silly string
Vitamin tablets
Jump ropes
Rhinestones
Telephones
Tacos
Books
Dishwashers
Air conditioning
Heaters
Electricity
Monuments
Airplanes

The list could go on.  Add to either list if you wish.  I know some of the examples may have either made you laugh or sounded absurd, but my point is that not everything natural is good, and not everything unnatural is bad.
